Behind on Posting...and still have a HUGE "To-Do" list

So, aside from the fact that my world now consists of School, work, cooking, studying and eventually crashing into bed, life is okay...

It is now September and I have been here for officially ONE MONTH. I want to go outside and take pictures all the time, or even spend my weekends exploring the areas around me. But THAT is not going to happen any time soon.

My one and only goal is to be the best in this program. And let me tell you, that means a LOT of hours studying.

No. Seriously. A. LOT. Of. Hours.

So as much as people tell me I need to have me time, those times are usually spent either cooking (which I LOVE), kickboxing, swimming, running, or watching a mind-numbing romantic comedy. (Which FYI, is a great way to waste a few hours!)

Luckily, I have met a few like-minded people and we study together (so no worries friends, family, and complete strangers! I'm still being social). In fact, one of the girls plans on coming with me back to San Diego for part of the Holidays. The beach has yet to loose its allure and I am missing that special ocean smell. Oh, Pacific, how I miss thee.

Two Weeks in and STILL ALIVE...mhahahahhahah

That's right, Two weeks into a foreign land and I'm still surviving!

...

Well, maybe not foreign, but definitely super different. There are WAY more trees, the mountains are basically in my backyard, and I feel like I can eat clouds for breakfast everyday. In fact, I might spend an entire post just talking about how different the clouds are (I personally think that's probably the best part about this place...well, that and the EPIC POOL! Their pool here has a rock wall to climb on in the middle of it! Not that I'm bragging or anything ^_~.)

Now, the move here was just AWFUL. Driving for 18-20 hours straight on no sleep is someone's idea of punishment. I'm never doing that again (planes are the way of the future! and today, but that just doesn't sound as cool). The only person who could put up with me and my terrible tantrums when I'm tired is my mom, so thanks to Buddha that she was the one with me. We actually had to pull over for an hour or two to take a nap. It was in the White Rivier National Park, so it was just lovely, but still.

After a weekend with the Nephew, brother, and soon-to-be-sister, I jumped into work. The first day AT Fort Collins (the place of my new home) was spent at training (Think RA training, just with better pay and less time commitment). I really like my boss. He reminds of my old one (Dana), just a bit sassy-er and even less guidance.

That's the interesting part. This is the second year that my position at SLiCE (that's the office I work in) has been in effect. My only complaint is that there is still a LOT of things they are missing to make this position seamlessly transition between years. I feel like I have to start from scratch in a few things, but aside from that (and the little fact that the E-Newsletter was created in order to torture my soul), I'm excited about working there. I just hope my excitement keeps going throughout the ENTIRE year.

We have ARRIVED.

Driving for 18+ hours on little to no sleep...super horrible (cruel and unusual horrible). But I have to say, the I-70 East has some Bea-U-Tiful views. And the sky! It was so clear. When people asked how I was getting to Colorado, I explained you just take the I-15 and take a right at Colorado. Which is pretty much true.

Now all I have to do is enjoy the weekend before I start my new job!

TWO DAYS

It never feels like there is enough time. Right now, I have exactly TWO DAYS till it's moving time. That's right, heading out east through the rockies and away from the Pacific (sniffle). I feel like I need to have one last look at the deep blue before I leave but I'm not sure I have time...in fact, I'm almost positive I have no time. Technically, I have to work the night before I leave (poor planning on my part...but my wallet appreciates it! stupid need for food and shelter) But that's okay, sleep is for the weak! (and the lucky...)

So my TO DO list is pretty much: pack my ish.

Well, that and say good-bye to my loved ones. My work friends and I have breakfast planned, one of my good friends is helping me pack (well, clean really...she just doesn't know it yet). And somewhere in there I need to actually sleep...or down a few energy drinks...or open a caffeine IV drip.

The Countdown begins...

6 more days. That is how many more sunrises and sunsets that I will be enjoying here on the West Coast before my epic trek across the US to the land-locked Colorado. Excited? Me? HELL YA!!!

Although I am a self-proclaimed sun and ocean type of girl (even though I find Sand to be a very difficult companion during beach time), I find the idea of this move terribly new and exciting. Having never lived farther then 30 minutes away from the beach (and that was even in traffic ridden LA), I start to hyperventilate a little just imagining the distance I would have to travel to see my dear Pacific Ocean...*sniffle*

HOWEVER!! Brave soul that I am - with my trusty computer, camera...and maybe some heavy layers - Colorado, here I come!
